Abstract:

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my, toriods, polynominals, and Zernikes, oh my. Freeforms! Why is everyone talking about freeform optics so much? This talk will cover the basics of freeform optical components. Why do people want freeforms? How are they defined? And how can they be made and measured?
